SBCHC’s Child Guidance Clinic

SBCHC’s Child Guidance Clinic provides effective mental health services to address the social, emotional, and psychological needs of children, adolescents, and their families

  • We strive to improve the emotional health and functioning of our clients by providing a full range of diagnostic and treatment services.
  • We utilize a team consisting of psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists.
  • To maximize treatment benefits, we utilize clinical interventions that are evidence based in order to treat the specific issues presented by our clients. The evidence based practices our staff are trained and certified in are:
    • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
    • Triple P Parenting
    • Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP)
    • Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
    • Seeking Safety
  • We provide counseling under Educationally Related Mental Health Services for the following school districts:
    • Manhattan Beach Unified School District
    • Redondo Beach Unified School District
  • Eligibility:

    • Children, adolescents, and young adults up to 21 years of age and their families who have Medi-Cal and meet severity criteria

SBCHC’s Dental Clinic

SBCHC’s Dental Clinic is the dental home for its patients, where the entire family unit can be educated about oral and preventative health, and can be treated using effective best practices.

  • We provide quality dental care for the prevention, detection, and treatment of dental problems. This includes: oral health education, x-rays, exams, cleanings, sealants, restoration, oral conscious sedation, and emergency care.
  • We conduct school-based diagnostic dental screenings at the following school districts and community partner locations:
    • Volunteers of America, Los Angeles Head Start Programs, South Bay (ages 3-5):
    • Lawndale Unified School District
    • Redondo Beach Unified School District
    • Torrance Unified School District (ages 3-5)
    • Local Preschool Programs (ages 0-5)
    • WIC (Women, Infant and Children Food and Nutrition) Offices


  • Children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 24
  • Fee-for-service
  • Denti-Cal accepted
  • Beach Cities Health District Participants
  • Free services for patients who qualify

SBCHC’s South Bay Youth Project

SBCHC’s South Bay Youth Project provides effective and supportive counseling and other social services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. The following services are offered:

  • Individual, family and couples counseling
  • Tutoring Service
  • Parenting Support Groups
  • Domestic Violence Support Groups
  • Counseling, parent education, and trainings for Head Start programs throughout the South Bay, South Los Angeles, and East Los Angeles areas.
  • School-Based Counseling services are offered in the following school districts:
    • Hermosa Beach City School District
    • Manhattan Beach Unified School District
    • Palos Verdes Unified School District
    • Redondo Beach Unified School District
      • Our Wilderness Program provides leadership and team building groups and exercises to youth at Redondo Shores Continuation School

  • Adults referred through Beach Cities Health District
  • Fees based on a family’s ability to pay
